ELICO, The First Electronic Industry in the state of Andhra Pradesh, was incorporated in 1960 at Hyderabad, as "Electronics and Industrial Instruments Co. Pvt. Ltd". The Company started its venture with the manufacturing of pH Meters for the first time in India and kept on adding several firsts in the areas of Spectrophotometry, Electrochemistry, Flame Photometry, Water Quality Analysis, Gas Analysis etc.

In 1970, the company name was changed to ELICO Pvt. Ltd.,and in 1995, the company was converted into a Limited company.

In 1976, ELICO diversified into manufacture of Professional Grade Switches and introduced a wide range of Toggle and Push Button Switches for use in Consumer Electronics and Telecommunication Industries. These Switches were accorded approvals by the Defence and Telecom establishments like CACT, LCSO, EXACT, C-DoT etc., Some of these switches confirm to MIL-83731, JSS 51201 and are going through IECQ approvals.

To be on par with International Quality Standards, in 1996 the company has obtained ISO 9001 Certification for Design, Development, Manufacturing and Servicing of Analytical Instruments and Professional Grade Switches. At present it is working towards CE Certification for all of its products.

R&D is the backbone of ELICO. To keep pace with technology , the company had established its own R&D wing, which is recognized by the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt.of India.

The companyÂ’s contribution to the industry has been recognized for many a time. ELICO has won a number of Awards for its R&D efforts in introducing new products. Prominent among them is the National Award for R&D efforts in Industry from the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research and the Department of Electronics, Government of India.

ELICO has developed and released a number of Hi-tech instruments i.e. Diode Array Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers, NIR Spectrophotometers, Spectrofluorometer, IR Gas Analysers, etc., with the latest technologies to meet the user requirements.
The company has a network of Sales & Services Centres in important cities and Authorised Agents/Dealers in other major towns and countries. ELICO is exporting its products to various countries.

In 1988 ELICO forayed into software providing microprocessor based Embedded Solutions to its customers. Since 1992 GUI based Instrumentation Software solutions are being developed and offered as a bundled solution to its clientele.

In 1999 ELICO established a 100% Export Oriented Design Services Division.

Written test: Time :1 hr marks:100

there are 3 sections : Aptitiude, C++, general English

the cut-off is high. I think it's nearly 75% so be careful in this writen test. This is the main ELIMINATION
round. NO negitive marking.

the Aptitude Section (20 ques) was easy.It's enough to prepare R.S.Agarwal.
Problems on distance,ages area,odd man series,time & work are given. they are very easy.

C++ section (20 ques)deals with some fundamental questions about inheritance, friend functions,
constructors & destructors. Some programs were given & we have to choose correct output.
[Many of the candidates didn't expect this section in written test, so u have to be prepared for all
circumstances]

English section deals with general english such as choosing right word to fit in the sentence.
Some synonyms and other simple questions. BARRONS is not needed.
just the simple english we use in daily life. They also asked us to write our strengths, weaknesses,goals in coming 5 yrs. [5 marks]

Technical Interview:

Most focus is on C++ as u might have expected.
asked about projects done, some simple questions in dbms, os, differences b/w c, c++,
rate urself in c++ on 1-10 scale etc..
This round was easy.just prepare for it.don't be nervous.and NEVER try to DECEIVE them.
They are really SMARTER than u think.

HR interview:

tell about urself, ur hobbies, ur strengths, weakness, why should I hire u, ur career objective
{this is a tricky question. just say what u have written in ur CV} and some other general questions
which will be asked based on ur achievemets / extra circullar activities written in ur CV.
